Looking For The Best Power Sports Distributor
When you think powersports, you think motorcycles. Everybody seems to define power sports differently. Some even include go-karts in their list of powersport vehicles, while purists limit it to motorbikes. Google power sports distributor and you're likely to find that most of them are motorcycle dealers, so for purposes of this review, we'll stick with the bikes.
It was no surprise when we learned that the brands were all fighting for top spot on the search engines. We found Honda and Yamaha at the top of the pile, followed closely by Suzuki.
We weren't interested in promoting individual products, though. We were looking for an outlet that distributed several brands. We were hoping to find a place that gave information we could trust about all the different motorcycles and not just advertising hype from each of them.
Sure, they would be biased and probably give us only the good stuff about any bike, but at least they would give us some solid information. There were surprisingly few websites that talked about powersports motorcycles in general and even fewer that gave us any real information. Most of them seemed to assume that their readers already knew everything there was to know about power sports.
Since we are not an affiliate marketer and don't want to sound like one, we're going to leave out the url and name of the only power sports distributor that we found that came close to meeting our criteria. We only do that if we have several for our readers to choose from.
Here's what we did discover, though. For starters, in the 250cc range, you can buy a decent Honda Rebel for around two and a half grand. From there, you go up the price scale. The distributor we looked at had Hyosung and Suzuki 250cc bikes for under three grand, but as far as we could tell, that was it. This power sports distributor had categories, but not enough for our taste. You couldn't narrow it down to engine capacity. That was a big drawback, in our opinion.
That was only the first disappointment for us. This distributor was the only one on page one of our search that sold a lot of motorcycles, but even it was not all that user friendly. Thinking we could find more smaller bikes for low prices, we checked their price category listings, but the lowest that went to was under ten grand. That didn't narrow the field enough for us.
They sold used motorcycles at this site. This was a big plus, but that too was a disappointment, because they didn't give you any real guidelines to go on other than year of manufacture. After that you could narrow it down some more, but not enough to do a decent comparison unless you already knew what you were looking for.
To be honest, in the end we were pretty disappointed. We thought you could find a good site for anything on the internet - we've done it before for hundreds of different products. There's definitely room there for a good power sports distributor. They need to have a few good computer nerds like us on their staff who can put together a website that real people can use and not just motorcycle fanatics.
